“Am I just Ann-nother Catholic”, In a world filled with Catholics I wonder what kind of Catholic am I, Looking through eye’s that title everyone as Catholic How am I representing my Faith where do I fall on the list I know what I would like to believe I am but really what am I?
To explain the broadness of my brushstroke on a world filled with Catholics here’s what I mean, there’s the Non, the Convert, the Anti, the Lax, the Fallen-away / “it was what my parents did to me” Catholic and then there is the On Fire ready to explode with Love and Devotion Catholic.
No, I ain’t an “it was what my parents did to me” Catholic, Yes, “it was what my parents did to me” but I don’t say that as if I wouldn’t have chosen it for myself I’m very thankful that my Parents Baptized & raised me Catholic I truly love and know-how Blessed I am that They were practicing Catholics who didn’t just take our family to Mass every once in a while or go on Sunday but come home to a home that had no real resemblance that it was a Catholic home, growing up we “Never missed Mass” there was a Crucifix, pictures, and statues but more importantly there was the example, I had two Grandmothers who are what I would call “Power House” Catholics my Grandfathers passed away before I could know them but my Grand Mothers made up for their absence Each one of my four major role models had Their own unique way of forming my life and concreting my Love for this Beautiful Religion.
So what is the draw to the Catholic Faith? Way too much for me to ever explain, but here’s a start, If you have a certain problem, there’s a patron Saint who’s been there, done it, beat it, and is now in Heaven waiting to intercede for it on your behalf. “Pray through not to” This is a popular misunderstanding that I will address in future writings,
Have you done something you should not have done? We have the Sacrament’s of Confession and the Eucharist those subjects will be in my writings to come.
I will conclude this my 1ft writing by Imploring St Michael on His Feast Day that through the Grace of God, He will help me to not be “Just another Catholic”
